Angaben zur Abhaltung

Inhalt

This course moves between critical disability and trans* theoretical perspectives and artistic and design research. In our work together we will explore questions like: what would data for trans*gender, autistic, queer and disabled people be? What could datasets do towards supporting our (as trans* and autistic people's) flourishing? How can we develop technical and infrastructural forms that deal lovingly with our knowledges? What material and social transformations do we need to abolish ableism? In this practice based course we will learn about speculation as a powerful mode in artistic research, experiment with data collection as an agential process rather than an extractive one, and develop an arts project that pushes back against violently normalized exclusions. This course exists within the context of MELT's fellowship with the University of Cologne and as such some collective outcomes of the course will inform MELT's media arts installation for Counting Feelings.
